The Census determines the number and distribution of the members of Congress. When is the determination of citizen/non-citizen more important?

The only reason I can think of to NOT ask about citizenship is that we suspect there are many many more than 11M ppl here illegally, but we don’t want the other side to know that. Why can’t we come up with a compelling platform that also deals with the facts?!

Dumb, impractical, short-sighted, shrewd, and naive to not include the question on the census.

Citizenship and race are not the same thing. Why would we NOT want to know the basic facts about our own country? And how can we be talking about free healthcare for folks here illegally, and not be kind of interested in how many ppl we’re talking about?

Did you know it's illegal to... encourage or induce an alien to come to, enter, or reside in the United States, knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such coming to, entry, or residence is or will be in violation of law...?

Much as I would love to deny Trump something he dearly wants, I think we should leave the citizenship question in. To omit it would be willfully ignorant. It’s critical data and we could learn a lot from it. Limit what government can do with the data, but do collect it.

We’ve had such questions on our census since 1901, but then, our electoral system has a federal, non-partisan governing body.

The fact of having to register is another screen, so that.

Please explain what race citizens are? Why not try some truth, then maybe all you left wing propaganda machines wouldn’t be failing. Fucking fear mongering scumbags.

It has been on every census until Obama removed it without the need of courts. Canada, the place most liberals say they will run when USA is too bad, has had it on their census since 1901. It still remains and no one is upset over it.

Actually it’s useful data regardless. And the president does not have control over the apportionment of US House seats.

Haha.. yeah.. that all functioning societies have been nation states makes it totally unfounded 😂 Have you been on an other planet during human history? Humans wihout a nation belong nowhere and will be eaten by those people who are able to form a community and cooperate

Cooperation doesn't require a Nation state, lol. Nothing about your appeal to history means that ONLY a nation state could bring prosperity; for most of the rest of the world outside of the first that is not the case because capitalism and, consequently, the nation state have...
